What time does badging open at Salt Lake City Airport? ›

Monday — Friday: 7:15 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Most applicants receive approval notification in 3-5 days, though some applications can take up to 60 days. Considering this, applicants are encouraged to renew at least 60 days prior to expiry.

TSA requires that airports complete a comprehensive audit of all badges at least once every 12 months, and at least 10% of randomly selected badges every 6 months. If more than 5% of all issued, unexpired badges are lost, stolen, or otherwise unaccounted for, the airport must re-issue badges for all employees.

Blue badges will have ALL access/driving privileges to the Runway, Taxiways, all Perimeter Service Roads, and all AOA ramps. Gray Badges will have access/driving privileges to All AOA ramps, including the North Service Road. Badges will have access/driving privileges on the General Aviation Ramp Only.

The RED Badge allows access to the SIDA "Secured. Area" and the remainder of the Airport Operations Area (AOA). The BLUE Badge allows access to the remainder of SIDA which includes the air cargo areas and the General Aviation areas.

The fastest and easiest way to enroll in TSA PreCheck® is to start the application online. You do not need to get TSA PreCheck® if you already have Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI, or hold an active TWIC® or Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with an HME.

The online application takes five minutes to complete with the in-person visit taking 10 minutes. During the in-person process, the enrollment provider will collect your biometric data (fingerprints, photo), verify identity documents, and collect payment.

Escorted access is permitted for those who have not been issued a SIDA badge provided they have an acceptable, valid government picture ID and are properly escorted by an individual possessing a valid Airport ID Badge with Escort authority, designated by either an “E” for Escort or an “A” indicating an armed law ...

Who is responsible for ensuring badge applications are accurately completed? ›

Airport operator employees are responsible for ensuring that the badge application is complete with the required biographical and fingerprint data for the STA and CHRC.

When it comes to badges produced by airports, the most common airport badge is a SIDA badge. A SIDA (or security identification display area) badge is typically issued to people, such as ground handling personnel, who work beyond the screening checkpoint in sterile areas who work on and around aircraft, among others.

The Secured Area is the most restricted area of the airport. Your ID badge has two purposes: 1) It provides access into Restricted Areas of the airport. 2) Your badge is a form of identification and shows you have permission to be in the Sterile or Restricted Areas.

It is strictly prohibited to use your ID Badge to allow yourself or other personnel departing on a flight access to a sterile area without them or their belongings being properly screened at a passenger screening checkpoint.

Some runways come very close to public roadways — it is perfectly legal to be on that roadway. Climbing a fence to walk on a towered field (which has No Trespassing signs) is illegal. Large airports come under special rules.

The main TSA security screening checkpoint is located on level two of the terminal at Salt Lake City International Airport. The checkpoint is open from 3:30 a.m. to 1 a.m.

Plan on Arriving Early

The TSA recommends to arrive at the airport two hours before a flight's scheduled departure. Allow even more time if traveling with young children, infants, or persons with disabilities.

The Badging and Fingerprinting Office hours are Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 1:00-4:30 p.m. (accepting applications until 11:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and the customer line will be cut off earlier, at our staff's discretion, on high customer volume days).
